As industry leaders in the oil and gas sector gathered at the 22nd Anniversary Africa Oil Week/Africa Upstream Conference, Chief Executive Officer, Dreg Waters Petroleum and Logistics Limited, Damilola Owolabi has said that the continent must look forward to value-adding services to survive in the face of dwindling commodity prices.
Speaking at the conference held in Capetown,
South Africa, Owolabi stressed that the sector must focus on delivering services
that would further promote oil and gas business in Africa.
She said, “My firm is privileged to
participate fully in an event of such global reputation alongside several
industry giants across the globe. It is glaring from recent development in the
sector that only value-addition services can make Africa measure up in the
global market.
In
line with our vision to deliver only benchmark value-adding business services
in the onshore, offshore and marine industries in Nigeria, being actively
participative in an event as this with multiple prospects is a necessity for us
and a step in forward direction.”
She explains that her clients
rely on her organisation to offer timely delivery of licenses and permits,
“Nigeria needs the right documentation and timely approvals of licenses and
permits in the petroleum, water dredging and logistics industry and as an
organisation, we are committed to making business swifter for the sector”,
Owolabi added.
The event, which was held in
joint venture (JV) with ITE Group Plc was conducted by Global Pacific &
Partners to address key oil and gas issues affecting the continent by engaging
senior industry delegates in a range of networking proceedings.
The event saw in attendance about
40 Governments with African national oil companies, licensing agencies, most
senior-level executives and corporate delegates of oil and gas companies around
the world, state oil officials and about 140 exhibitors.
